The U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) are a group of islands and islets in the Caribbean. The U.S.V.I. are a U.S. territory, known for white sandy beaches, beautiful reefs and lush verdant hills. St. Thomas island is home to the capital, Charlotte Amalie. To the east is the island of St. John, most of which comprises Virgin Islands National Park. Life in the Virgin Islands is a fusion of Caribbean and American Cultures. Walking down the street you can find fast food restaurants like Wendy’s and McDonald’s next to fish markets selling todays catch. Gas stations and corner stores sell kenips, mangos, and star apples with General Mills and Campbell's products. Local sports include baseball, soccer (futbol), and football. The official language is English but it is not uncommon to hear Spanish, French-Patois and Creole. Most people there are of African descent, others include Americans, Hispanics, and European groups. Most people who live are religious, being catholic or Baptist.

When getting ready to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands you have to decide which one to visit, but if price isn’t a factor there some cruise lines that visit all three islands. The average cost of a plane ticket running for about $300 cost of travel is relatively cheap for the Caribbean.
